The Virginia Adventure Trail is an approximately 650 mile overland and adventure bike route that crosses the commonwealth, south-to-north. The VAT begins at the VA/NC line, near Damascus, VA and makes its way north, before eventually ending at the VA/WV line, near Fulks Run, VA. The VAT connects hundreds of miles of Virginia’s outstanding offroad trails and forest roads. The trail is easily completed in any 4×4 vehicle with sufficient ground clearance. For riders wanting more challenge, some of Virginia’s more technical routes are included as optional routes. Potts Mountain Jeep Trail, Bald Mountain Jeep Trail, and Union Springs are all included as spur trails, off of the main route. No seasonally closed trails are included in the main route. The VAT is open year-round!
